Mr. Maciej started Prana Consulting in 2001, after working at Berkman Communications, and serving in government for more than 10 years.

Steve Maciej has also previously held the position of legislative assistant for San Diego City Councilman Byron Wear. In his capacity as legislative assistant, Mr. Maciej played a key role in directing the council member's legislative and public policy agendas.

 During his tenure with the city, Mr. Maciej gained unique experience in development and planning, serving as a key staff person on such large public planning projects as the North and South Embarcadero Planning programs. Importantly, he played a key role in the siting and planning of the future downtown ballpark and served as Council member Wear's key aide on the Ballpark Task Force.  Also, Mr. Maciej spent several years involved in federal government, working for both the United States Senate and the House of Representatives.While working in the nation’s capital for then Senator Pete Wilson, Mr. Maciej gained tremendous experience that he applied as the Senator’s  district representative for Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. In addition, Mr. Maciej provided his political expertise to House Representative Brian Bilbray, focusing on environmental and land-use issues. As an aide to the Congressman and to Council member Wear, Mr. Maciej was responsible for developing and implementing communications strategies designed to influence public opinion and garner support for their policies and initiatives. With these relationships, Mr. Maciej can benefit  his clients in the public affairs arena.
